The shelf life of Pu'er Tea cake is 10 to 20 years. Pu'er tea is made from sun-dried rough tea produced in specific regions of Yunnan and is a loose or Compressed tea that undergoes post-fermentation. According to the execution standard GB/T22111-2008, it can be stored for a long time, but it is generally recommended to store it for 10 to 20 years to reach its optimal tasting period. Beyond this period, the flavor will decline.

For high-quality Pu'er tea, the longer it is stored, the more it continues to ferment over time, resulting in better taste. However, the flavor may become somewhat aged and lighter. If improperly stored, its shelf life will be shortened, and it may develop mold and spoil.

When storing Pu'er tea cakes, avoid placing them in damp or high-temperature environments. Maintain a temperature around 20°C to 30°C and prevent them from coming into contact with items with strong odors to avoid flavor contamination. Alternatively, seal them and store them refrigerated.
