White Tea Speaks: Reasons to Choose Fuding White Tea

Tea News · May 06, 2025

White Tea has been used as a medicinal ingredient since ancient times. In “The Complete Annals of Mount Taomu,” there is a classic discussion on Baihao Yinzhen (Silver Needle): “Lvxueya, now called Baihao, is exceptional in both color and fragrance. The best quality comes from the Hongxue Cave. It is cool and slightly cold in nature and has effects similar to those of rhinoceros horn, making it a holy medicine for measles.”

One: Health Attributes

As more and more research on White Tea emerges, our understanding of its health benefits becomes increasingly clear. The pandemic has further enhanced public awareness of health, so sometimes when we mention white tea, we think of health!

In the doctoral thesis “Research on Fuding White Tea and Its Bioactivity” by Dr. Jin Enhui from Zhejiang University's Department of Tea Science, it is stated that Fuding white tea has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which can play a certain role in combating fibrosis. It is a source of natural phenolic antioxidants and can have certain effects on the prevention and repair of lung and liver fibrosis. Drinking white tea is just right for the dry winter climate!

Two: Appreciation Potential

In the second half of 2025, various brands began to raise prices, with an average increase of around 20% to 30%. According to “China's White Tea Market Research Analysis and Prospects Report 2025-2025” published by China Industry Research Network, during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, the production costs of white tea will continue to rise due to factors such as rising raw material prices and increased labor costs. However, influenced by a combination of factors including a large potential market, steadily increasing sales prices, gradually improving mechanization levels, and growing reputation and popularity, the national output of white tea will continue to increase, and its value will further rise. The main upward trend should remain unchanged.

However, if the received tea is already relatively expensive, this weakens its appreciation potential. Coinciding with the New Year Festival, major brands are also offering promotions; let's take a look at their promotional prices!

Three: Rich Taste Changes

Baihao Yinzhen (Silver Needle) and Pai Mu Dan (White Peony), when enjoyed fresh, are delightfully fresh and sweet. After storage and aging, they can present a richer bouquet of floral, honey, aged, and medicinal aromas, along with a captivating downy aroma after transformation.

After storage, Shoumei and Gongmei (tribute eyebrows) change from light yellow to orange-yellow and then to orange-red. They can develop fruity, honeyed, jujube, glutinous rice, medicinal, and aged aromas. Shoumei has fewer buds and more leaves, along with some tea stalks. The inner contents of old leaves and tea stalks are more abundant, which is very conducive to transformation.

Moreover, tea stalks can add some gaps to tea cakes, which is beneficial for the tea's “breathing,” thus accelerating its transformation process. Relatively speaking, Shoumei has a high yield and low price, with great potential for appreciation, making it suitable for ordinary consumers.
