Chairman Yao Xiaojun of the Qiimen County CPPCC Investigates the Tea Industry Development

Tea News · May 06, 2025

On August 1st, Chairman Yao Xiaojun of the county's Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited CPPCC members and investigated the development of the Tea industry.

Chairman Yao Xiaojun visited the representatives in charge of regulated tea enterprises including Anhui Province Qiimen Black Tea Development Co., Ltd., Anhui Province Qiimen County Black Tea Industry Co., Ltd., and Qiimen County Qiya Tea Industry Co., Ltd. – all of whom are CPPCC members. The representatives of each tea enterprise reported on this year's tea production, sales for the first half of the year, forecasts for the second half, green pest control measures, and other related topics.

Yao Xiaojun noted that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee is an extremely important meeting held at a crucial time as China advances the great cause of building a strong country and rejuvenating the nation through modernization with distinctive Chinese characteristics. Learning, publicizing, and implementing the spirit of the plenary session is a major political task for the CPPCC organs and its broad membership over the coming period. We must fully implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, deeply understand and grasp the essence of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, and fully comprehend the significant importance of further comprehensive reform and promoting modernization with distinctive Chinese characteristics.

Yao Xiaojun pointed out that this year has seen an even better performance in green pest control in our county's tea gardens, with no cases of pesticide residue exceeding standards detected so far. However, neither the various townships nor relevant functional departments can afford to be complacent; they must continue their efforts consistently. Each tea enterprise should continue to adhere to the principle of “quality tea at quality prices,” establish extensive interest linkage mechanisms with tea farmers, actively participate in the source control of tea gardens, continuously improve the quality of tea leaves, promote increased production and efficiency in the tea industry, and achieve income growth for tea farmers. Now that sales for the first half of the year have concluded, key tea enterprises should closely monitor the market, innovate their products, seize traditional peak sales periods such as Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, New Year's Day, and the Spring Festival, and make preparations in advance for both online and offline sales channels. They should strive to achieve new heights in sales for the year by leveraging the combined strength of online stores and physical shops.
