The tangerine peel and ripe Pu'er tea ingredients are rich in amino acids, vitamins, ketones, and other nutrients, which can supplement the body's nutritional needs while also nourishing the skin. Moreover, aged tangerine peel has the effect of “warming those who are fatigued and benefiting those who are deficient,” and regular consumption can enhance physical fitness and prevent diseases.
How to Brew Dahonggan Pu'er Tea
Step 1: Warming Utensils
Pour boiling water into a purple clay pot or a lidded bowl to warm them up; this can also be used to rinse the cups before discarding the water.
Step 2: Preparing the Tea
Open the outer packaging of the Dahonggan Pu'er tea, pour out about 6 grams of ripe Pu'er tea from inside the tangerine, and break off two to three small pieces of aged tangerine peel (approximately 2 grams), adjusting the amount according to personal taste (different brands of Pu'er tea may vary in net content, so adjust the amount of Pu'er tea and tangerine peel accordingly based on the size of the Pu'er tea). Place them in the pot or lidded bowl.
Step 3: Rinsing the Tea
Because both the tangerine peel and Pu'er tea have aged, it is necessary to rinse the tea before brewing. Pour boiling water into the pot or lidded bowl and discard the first infusion after 3 to 5 seconds. The first infusion not only awakens the flavors of the tea but also cleanses any impurities.
Step 4: Brewing the Tea
Refill the pot or lidded bowl with boiling water, ensuring the tea is covered, and place the lid on top. Let it steep for around 7 to 10 seconds. The Steeping time can be adjusted according to personal preference for the strength of the brew.
Step 5: Enjoying the Tea
Pour the brewed tea into a pitcher, using a strainer on top to prevent tea leaves from falling through. Remove the strainer and pour the tea from the pitcher into tasting cups. You can now enjoy the tea. High-quality Pu'er tea remains fragrant and bright red even after ten infusions, making it perfect for leisurely or social sipping.
