The other day, our county held a field demonstration of mechanized cultivation and weeding in Tea gardens in Pingli Town. Attendees included representatives from the agricultural and rural affairs bureaus of various districts and counties, the municipal and county agricultural machinery promotion centers, the Qimen Black Tea Industry Development Center, leaders in charge of agricultural and agricultural machinery work in various towns, as well as relevant tea production and processing enterprises, tea specialized cooperatives, tea garden agricultural machinery producers, and some agricultural machinery business entities.
The event showcased tea garden pruning machines, micro-cultivators, tea-picking machines, and other management equipment. Some agricultural machinery business entities demonstrated the mechanical performance of track-type, hand-guided, and backpack-type tea garden weeders on-site. The person in charge of the tea machinery manufacturing enterprise provided a detailed explanation of the working principles and operational points of the tea machinery. The attendees watched, listened, and took photos while showing great interest in these tea machines that are suitable for mountainous tea gardens, easy to operate, and cost-effective. Some tea enterprises even conducted on-site operational experiences.
“With one person and one machine, 20 acres of tea garden can be cultivated in a day, which is equivalent to the work of 60 people. For old tea gardens, simple organic renovations need to be made to realize the replacement of human labor with machines, contributing to the high-quality development of Qimen black tea,” said Chen Zhidong, General Manager of Zhejiang Tangshi Road Holding Group Co., Ltd.
This field demonstration will promote increased use of new machinery by tea farmers and tea enterprises, replacing manual labor with advanced machinery to maximize work efficiency, reduce production costs, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the tea industry. The attendees also visited the Qimen Black Tea Group and listened to an introduction about the company.
