Nannuoshan Banpo Old Village is located on the mountainside of Nannuoshan in the Nanrou Village Committee area, Gelandehexiang, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture. The nearest neighboring village is over 5 kilometers away. Despite being built on a mountainside, Banpo Old Village is well-preserved, with towering ancient trees, lush forests, babbling streams, and abundant species, showcasing many typical wonders of tropical rainforests. It is a natural primitive forest park, hidden within its dense forest are countless ancient Tea trees, their intertwined roots exuding an ancient tea charm. The fresh leaves of Banpo Old Village's ancient tree tea have a slightly dark color and belong to the large-leaved arboreal variety; the rough tea is relatively loosely processed, with a slightly bitter taste that turns sweet and refreshing, the liquor is greenish-white and translucent, exuding aromas of honey and Orchid, as delicate as lotus. The tea has a smooth texture, a pure, thick, and sweet taste, with a pure character and rich inner qualities.

Nannuoshan Banpo Old Village

Banpo Old Village is situated in Nannuoshan, the world's first ancient tea village, located in the Nanrou Village Committee of Gelande Hani Ethnic Township, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, established on the mountainside of Nannuoshan.

It boasts intact primary forests and extensive cultivated ancient tea gardens, making it the largest tea garden in Yunnan's Xishuangbanna. The tea produced here has been renowned throughout history.

Why is it considered the representative tea of Nannuoshan and a favorite among men? I believe it's due to its excellent quality and taste, making it a top choice for many Pu'er tea enthusiasts to collect.

The tea trees grow around the village and are well protected by the villagers, so the tea can rival the status of the now-deceased wild-type tea king tree from Badaba Mountain, holding a significant place in the hearts of tea lovers.

Characteristics of Nannuoshan Banpo Old Village Ancient Tree Tea

Banpo Old Village's ancient tree tea belongs to the large-leaved arboreal variety. The dry tea has thick, tightly twisted leaves, alternating dark and light green colors. After brewing, the liquor is greenish-white and translucent, exuding aromas of honey and orchid, as delicate as lotus. The tea has a pure, thick, smooth, and sweet taste, a pure character, rich inner qualities, full-bodied liquor, and a particularly smooth texture. It is basically not bitter or astringent, with a distinct mountainous character.

Banpo Old Village is located on the mountainside of Nannuoshan in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, and is a high-altitude ancient tree, with trees generally around 300 years old. Throughout the year, it can produce hundreds of kilograms of dry tea, a resource that is still quite abundant.
