Basic Introduction to Monyu Foya · Yulogangji
Monyu Foya · Yulogangji is a specialty product of Cuona County, Shannan Region, Tibet Autonomous Region. The Monyu Foya · Yulogangji Tea has excellent quality and great taste; in 2013, the application for “Monyu Foya · Yulogangji” submitted by the Agricultural Comprehensive Service Station of Cuona County, Tibet, was reviewed and approved by experts organized by the Ministry of Agriculture's Product Quality and Safety Center, and it was granted national agricultural geographical indication registration protection.
Lebugou in Cuona County, Shannan Region, has unique climatic conditions that are ideal for growing tea and a history of over 30 years of tea cultivation with a solid local foundation. According to the arrangements for the Special Industry Development Year activity in Cuona County, focusing on building a prosperous Cuona, the strategy of enriching the county through industry is being vigorously implemented, and the expansion work for the 1,400 mu tea field at the Cuona Lebu Tea Factory has now been fully launched.
Geographical Scope
Cuona County is located in the south of Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, in the southeast of the Himalayas, and is one of the border counties of the Tibet Autonomous Region. To the east, it borders the Indian-occupied region of Lhoyu, to the southwest, it borders Bhutan, to the south, it borders India, and to the northwest, it borders the region's Luoze and Cuomei. To the northeast, it borders Longzi and Lang County. The climate within the protected area is mild throughout the year, with an annual sunshine duration of 1,940 hours, a frost-free period of 186 days, and an average annual temperature of 10.03°C. Cuona County currently consists of 9 townships, 1 town, and 1 administrative office, namely Cuona Town, Juela Township, Kada Township, Quzhuomu Township, Langpo Township, Kujue Township, Mamma Township, Le Township, Gongri Township, Jiba Township, and the Lebu Administrative Office. The protected area for Monyu Foya Yulogangji includes the villages of Mamma, Le, and Xian in Mamma Township and Le Township. Product Characteristics
The “Monyu Foya · Yulogangji” tea is a unique agricultural product of Cuona County, with a tea polyphenol content of 7.13%–8.5%, an amino acid content of 8.9%–9.5%, and a total catechin content of 17.25%. Compared with other teas, the amino acid content of “Monyu Foya · Yulogangji” tea is 4%–5% higher, making it of superior quality.
