Good Tea knows the season, it comes when spring arises.

The Yao Ethnic Township is a mountainous town, where the waters are clear, the air is fresh, and the people are honest. Here, tens of thousands of acres of tea gardens stretch across the undulating mountains, their fragrance invigorating the heart and soul. Here, flowers bloom throughout the year, bees and butterflies dance, and birdsong fills the air with sweetness, all contributing to the unique quality of the tea. This is where you can find the renowned “Two Creeks, One River, and One Pond” teas, namely, Python Creek, Baimai Creek, Copper Creek River, and Hundred Flowers Pond, four major tea brands.

01

Python Creek

The Python Creek tea is located in the Miaojiu area under the jurisdiction of Huanglianshan Village Committee in the Yao Ethnic Township. Legend has it that there are ancient large-leaf tea trees planted by Zhuge Liang here, some of which have survived for several hundred years. Due to past cultivation of crops, many of these ancient tea trees were cut down, and now only a few remain, with the most being found in the Python Creek area of Miaojiu.

The Python Creek tea has long, slender leaves, covered with fine hairs, and a honey-like aroma when dry. The infusion has a unique floral and fruity fragrance, a mild initial bitterness and astringency that dissipates quickly, followed by a strong sweet aftertaste and salivation. The tea liquor is thick and full-bodied with a gel-like texture, wild in character, and a smooth, delicate mouthfeel. The throat is left with a deep, cooling sensation.

It is known as “The Fine Green Tea from the Depths of the Yao Mountains”.

The Baimai Creek tea has a rich and deep aroma, with a clear and transparent liquor. The taste is fresh and sweet, leaving a cool sensation in the throat. The tea liquor is full-bodied, carrying a subtle floral and honey scent, along with a mountain fruit fragrance. The mountain wilderness aroma is elegant and pure, with a lingering aftertaste that is restrained yet perfectly integrated with the liquor.

Copper Creek River

The Copper Creek River tea is located in the Zhongshan Xinzhai and Laozhai areas under the jurisdiction of Xinshan Village Committee in the Yao Ethnic Township. Copper Creek River is named after the river that runs through this ancient tea garden. To harvest the tea, one must travel upstream, crossing mountains and rivers. The ecosystem here is truly a “sanctuary of nature”.

The Copper Creek River tea has an attractive appearance, with straight, hard leaves and a golden, transparent liquor that is thick and viscous. There is a mild initial bitterness, but the tea liquor is heavy and refined, with a rich and persistent aroma that carries the scent of the primal forest. As the liquor flows gently down the throat, the bitterness fades, giving way to a quick and strong sweet aftertaste and salivation that is both full-bodied and layered.
