Green waters, green mountains, and ancient Tea trees – the Lao Banzhang Villager Group of Banzhang Village is located 48 kilometers away from Menghai County and is situated in the northeastern part of Brown Mountain Township. It is a Hani ethnic village and serves as the core point of the first-mover area for the integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in Brown Mountain's ancient tea mountain region. In recent years, the Lao Banzhang Villager Group has been committed to studying and implementing Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, pursuing a path of green development, achieving mutual promotion between ecological protection and economic development, and laying a solid industrial foundation for rural revitalization.

The Lao Banzhang Villager Group persists in combining the improvement of villager self-governance with the cultivation of volunteer trends. Through activities such as “Doing Practical Things for the People,” Party members and cadres regularly conduct volunteer services such as assisting special groups in need. To further advance the “Two Mountains” theory, they have mobilized Party members, cadres, and the public to voluntarily demolish structures and buildings that affect the village's appearance, such as walls and color steel sheets, covering an area of 12,000 square meters. All villagers participated in planting more than 20,000 trees on a voluntary basis, fundamentally protecting the environment. With the border police officers, village officials, and village guards as the backbone, a “Brown Tea Country Equestrian Patrol Team” has been established, focusing on patrolling, prevention, and management. They regularly patrol around the village, checking for disaster risks, serving as “researchers,” maintaining order in the village group, and ensuring that border guarding and village protection are not neglected. Learning from the successful experience of the “Tens of Millions Project,” the group started with village appearance improvements, explored a system of paid use for oversized residential plots, and included it in the village regulations and conventions. Fees are collected in a standardized, tiered manner and managed within the collective economy, fostering a sense of standardized home construction among the villagers.

They actively contacted the elderly sports association to conduct square dance training and exchanges, where songs and dances continued during the “Gatangpa” festival, showcasing the spirit of the elderly. They actively participated in the Banzhang Ancient Tea Mountain Spring Tea Harvest Festival, using tea as a medium and the festival as a platform to showcase the unique ethnic customs of the ancient tea mountain. At the “Sangkang Cup” Games, they competed with athletes from across the township, demonstrating skills, determination, and spirit, transforming the competitive spirit into powerful momentum for building their village homes.
