From 2025 to 2025, the Yueyang Tea Industry Office organized relevant experts to conduct drought and cold resistance trials and demonstrations at Meishan Yun Tea Garden (in Yueyang County), Yueyang Rural Development Group Tiexiang Tea Co., Ltd. (in Xiangyin County), and Yueyang Yellow Tea Industry Development Co., Ltd. The specific plan is as follows.
1. Foliar Fertilizer Formula
2. Spraying Method
1. Cold Resistance Spraying Time: Primarily targets varieties with weaker cold resistance, such as Golden Tea, or areas of the tea garden that are more prone to frost, such as wind-exposed sections. Three sprays are applied during the autumn-winter management period of the tea garden; the first after National Day, the second in November, and the third one week after the Start of Spring. After spraying, the tea garden shows significant cold resistance, which helps the tea buds emerge early for market.
2. Drought Resistance Spraying Time: Three sprays are applied after summer and Autumn Tea picking or pruning, with intervals of 10-15 days (can be combined with drip irrigation or spray irrigation systems, diluted approximately 1000 times). Spraying is best done in the early morning, late evening, or on overcast days for optimal results; on sunny days, it should be done before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m., while on overcast days, it can be done throughout the day.
3. Application Results
Cold Resistance: During the winter of 21-22, temperatures were relatively high. The implemented tea gardens were generally located below an altitude of 300 meters, and no frost damage occurred in the gardens overall. Compared to the control group, the buds were uniform and robust, and the harvesting period was advanced by 2-3 days.
Drought Resistance: Compared to the control area, the experimental area had fewer withered leaves and branches, a lower rate of whole plant withering, and faster recovery in the spring.
