Pu'er tea emphasizes not the type of tea but the mountain.

Pu'er tea is mainly distributed in areas such as Xishuangbanna, Lincang, Pu'er, and Baoshan in Yunnan Province. Each production area consists of smaller regions defined by different mountains.

Banzhang Village is located in Bulang Mountain, Menghai County, and includes old Banzhang, new Banzhang, and four other natural villages.
