In the deep implementation of the “Hundreds, Thousands, and Myriads Project,” Tongqu Town in Longchuan County leverages its unique natural environment and abundant wild Tea resources. By guiding farmers to actively engage in wild tea cultivation, they are creating a distinctive agricultural brand of “one industry per town, one product per Village.” This initiative brings wild tea into the mainstream market, chaining up a new path for green prosperity and dual wins.
Stepping into Tongqu Town's wild tea plantation, a breathtakingly beautiful Landscape of lush mountains unfolds before your eyes. From afar, the mountains are like dark blue silhouettes, their peaks shrouded in mist, resembling a carefully crafted fairyland that ignites endless imagination. Up close, the tea trees are luxuriant and verdant, each leaf brimming with vitality and nature's bounty. A gentle breeze carries the fragrant aroma of tea, intertwining with the fresh air to form an enchanting pastoral symphony that immerses you in its charm, making you forget the world outside. “Our tea quality is excellent, and the current market feedback is highly positive. We combine technology with efforts to mobilize farmers to expand planting, continuously improving processing capabilities to build our wild Mountain tea brand,” said Huang Jian, head of Tongqu Town's Agricultural Technology Promotion Station.
According to the introduction, to ensure the quality of wild tea from the source, Tongqu Town's Agricultural Technology Promotion Station not only meticulously cultivates high-quality tea seedlings but also implements a series of innovative measures to assist farmers in adopting green and pesticide-free farming practices, ensuring that every wild tea plant blossoms with its truest aroma in pure soil. “First, we encourage and guide farmers to use mulching films and manual weeding to avoid herbicides and control pesticide usage. Second, we guide farmers on using insect traps and cotton gauze boards to meet modern agricultural technical requirements. Third, we advise farmers to use organic fertilizers to improve the quality of wild tea, achieving environmental friendliness and organic standards,” said Huang Jian.
After nearly a decade of careful nurturing and cultivation, Tongqu Town has now radiated and driven 11 households across two villages, Ge Teng and Hua Xin, to participate in wild tea planting, covering over 120 acres, with an annual output value reaching more than 4 million yuan. Wild tea cultivation not only provides substantial economic returns for farmers but also enables them to work locally, opening up a path to increased income and prosperity. “Since planting wild tea, the income has been significant, and our family's life has improved significantly. I'm very happy. For the next season, we will continue planting tea. The wild tea not only yields high but also tastes great, and sales are going well,” said Chen Yilin, a tea farmer from Ge Teng Village in Tongqu Town, happily.
