In recent years, the Wuzhou City Market Supervision and Administration Bureau has focused on the development needs of the entire Liubao Tea industry chain. It has carried out quality improvement actions, implemented strategies such as “Standardization+,” “Production Permit+,” and “Certification+,” and significantly improved the quality of Wuzhou Liubao tea. This approach uses quality brands to empower the upgraded development of the Liubao tea industry chain.
The Qin Yi Liubao Tea Industry Specialized Cooperative in Cangwu County is a small and medium-sized enterprise deeply engaged in traditional Liubao tea production techniques. Although it focuses on traditional methods, the cooperative is not conservative; it successfully obtained the Hong Kong “Right Mark” certification at the end of last year. To help the cooperative's traditional Liubao tea products gain traction in the Hong Kong market, relevant staff from the Wuzhou City Market Supervision and Administration Bureau proactively visited the cooperative's management to introduce relevant policies and professional knowledge.

The confidence of small and medium-sized enterprises to capture large markets comes from the strengthening of brand construction and the revitalization of industrial “bloodlines” by the Wuzhou City Market Supervision and Administration Department. The bureau conducted special actions for trademark brand building in the Liubao tea industry, assisting all tea-related business entities in the city to strengthen trademark registration applications and protection, continuously expanding the Liubao tea trademark brand system. As of July 2024, the city had a total of 1,872 valid registered trademarks in the tea category, an increase of 30.6% compared to the previous year. The number of enterprises approved to use the geographical indication special mark for Liubao tea increased to 77, accounting for 58.78% of Liubao tea production enterprises.
In the continuous process of building the Liubao tea industry brand, standardization in the production process of enterprises is the “muscle and bone” of industrial development. In the production workshop of Guangxi Daying Liubao Tea Co., Ltd., freshly picked summer tea, after preliminary processing, is stir-fried in a specially designed Wok. Do not underestimate this “wok”; its material, temperature control, and technique mimic the characteristics of a manual firewood stove. Moreover, the entire process is digitally controlled, ensuring that each batch of products is strictly produced according to standards, striving for uniform quality.

To continuously strengthen the full lifecycle management and key standard supply of local Liubao tea standards, Wuzhou City successively released 75 national standards, Guangxi local standards, and group standards for Liubao tea, as well as one set of national physical standard samples. This realized a full coverage of the entire industrial chain standard system from tea seedlings to Teacups. In recent years, the qualified rate of Liubao tea quality supervision and random inspections has remained at 100%. The Wuzhou City Market Supervision and Administration System has also upgraded the “one-stop” platform system for quality services in the Liubao tea industry, connecting city, county, and town levels through online and offline organic integration, breaking through the “last mile” barrier for quality services. Since the establishment of the platform, it has cumulatively helped tea companies solve various quality problems 812 times and saved more than 30 million yuan in costs.

High-quality development has also driven the continuous increase in the public brand value of Wuzhou Liubao tea. To date, the tea garden area in Wuzhou City has exceeded 400,000 mu, with an annual output of 35,000 tons of Liubao tea and a comprehensive output value exceeding 20 billion yuan. The regional public brand value of Wuzhou Liubao tea reached 4.973 billion yuan, entering the top 15 nationally for the first time. The reputation and visibility of Wuzhou Liubao tea have been further enhanced.
