In order to gain a deeper understanding of the progress of key work in the ecological Tea industry in major tea-producing counties and to further promote high-quality development of the ecological tea industry, on August 1st, Chen Kang, Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and Leader of the Municipal Ecological Tea Industry Special Task Force, led a research team to Sinan County to investigate the progress of key work in the ecological tea industry. An Yijun, Director of the Standing Committee of the County People's Congress, accompanied them, along with responsible persons from relevant departments such as the Municipal and County Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureaus and Sunjiaba Town.
The research team visited the Matcha (tencha) base and Sinan Zinc-Selenium-Strontium Yan Tea (Group) Co., Ltd. in Sunjiaba Town for on-site inspections and held discussions. During the discussions, responsible persons from the County Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau and Sinan Zinc-Selenium-Strontium Yan Tea (Group) Co., Ltd. reported to the research team about the progress of key work regarding the construction of the matcha base and tencha production line, the establishment and operation of tea industry organizations, summer tea production and processing, as well as market marketing. Through on-site research and listening to reports, the research team gave full recognition to the development of the ecological tea industry in Sinan County.
It is reported that Sinan County has implemented 5,740 mu of matcha (tencha) bases (including 1,500 mu of high-standard matcha (tencha) bases) and two tencha production lines. The existing tencha production line has resumed production, with an output of 2.5 tons and a value of 300,000 RMB; bulk tea producers such as Yan Tea Group, Sinan County Tea Farm, and Xinzhao Company are stepping up production of summer tea, having produced over 1,400 tons of bulk tea with a value of approximately 40 million RMB.
In the next step, Sinan County will accelerate the implementation progress of the matcha management project funded by East-West Collaboration funds for 2024, aiming to build it into one of the primary raw material bases and processing centers for high-quality matcha in Tongren City, driving high-quality development of the local matcha (tencha) industry and assisting Tongren in building a “High-Quality Matcha Base in China.” Additionally, they will actively guide bulk tea producers to step up production of summer tea, continuing to develop the county as a center for bulk Tea processing and an export tea distribution center in the province.
