To further enhance the overall level of the Tea industry in Jiedong District and promote high-quality development of the industry chain. On August 6, our institute hosted a training session for the Jiedong stir-fried tea industry chain in Xinhen Town.
At the training session, Associate Professor Fang Kaixing from the Tea Tree Resources and Breeding Research Room delivered a special report titled “Quality Tea Varieties Boosting the Development of the Jieyang Tea Industry.” He provided a comprehensive introduction covering the entire process of tea tree breeding, the impact of quality tea varieties on the tea industry and tea brands, scientific support for Jieyang stir-fried tea during his tenure, as well as the characteristics of different stir-fried teas in the Chaoshan region. This enabled tea growers to gain a deeper understanding of Jieyang stir-fried tea products and the industry chain.
The training session also invited Wang Weizhuan, General Manager of Guangdong Red Fire Ant Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Senior Agricultural Engineer Li Renke, and Wu Daowei, Deputy Director of the Jieyang Food Testing Institute, to deliver presentations. The experts conducted training on topics including identification and green control strategies for harmful pests in tea plantations, ecological habits and control methods for red fire ants, and application procedures for food production licenses and product quality safety. They provided practical knowledge to tea growers, enhancing the market competitiveness of local tea products.
The training session attracted many participants related to the tea industry. Attendees expressed that they had learned a lot of practical knowledge through the training, which is of significant importance for improving tea cultivation and processing skills and promoting the development of the industry chain.
The Xinhen Town government stated that it will continue to pay attention to and support the development of the tea industry. It hopes that through similar training activities, the technical skills and market competitiveness of tea growers can be continuously improved, injecting new vitality into the sustained development of the Jiedong stir-fried tea industry chain.
