In recent years, Yunnian County has firmly implemented the provincial government's strategic deployment to create a billion-dollar refined Sichuan Tea industry, capitalizing on its resource advantages to transform them into assets. Currently, the tea industry has become a vital pillar supporting rural revitalization in Yunnian County.
In the standardized production workshop of Yunnian Tea Industry Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Yunnian Tea Company), located in the Haiying Functional Area of Yunnian Economic Development Zone, a modern production line with capabilities for automated, large-scale, standardized production and clean processing was put into operation in early June this year. This new-style tea drink raw material production line can process 15,000 pounds of fresh leaves per hour. The intelligent tea production line has effectively improved the standards and quality of tea production while significantly reducing labor costs, achieving the goals of cost reduction, increased production, and efficiency enhancement.
The construction of the production line is based on the growing demand for new-style tea drinks, leading many tea drink companies and raw material suppliers to actively seek cooperation. After the modern production line was put into use, Yunnian Tea Company achieved a significant improvement in production efficiency and tea product quality, fully meeting the market's demand for high-quality and high-yield tea products. This has attracted the attention of numerous well-known domestic and international new-style tea drink brands. Yunnian Tea Company will continue to leverage its regional resource advantages to promote the transformation of Yunnian's tea industry growth from extensive to intensive, positioning itself as a benchmark enterprise in refined tea production.
As the birthplace of “Sichuan Red,” Yunnian County is the largest and earliest base for the production of red tea in Sichuan Province, earning it the reputation of being the “Hometown of Sichuan Red.” Currently, the area under tea cultivation within the county remains steadily above 300,000 acres, with nearly 50,000 tea-growing households and over 140 Tea processing enterprises. By promoting new techniques, equipment, and technologies, the county continues to drive the transformation and upgrading of the tea industry, opening up new possibilities for tea.
Going forward, Yunnian County will focus on tea plantation development, expanding the scale of plantations, particularly by accelerating the construction of projects such as the Sichuan Red cluster and national tea industry system demonstration county bases. Efforts will also be made to continuously improve the 200,000-acre red tea industrial demonstration park in areas including Yunlian Town, Xunsi Town, Muai Town, and Tenda Town. There will be a strong push to promote the regional public brands “Sichuan Red” and “Yunnian Red Tea,” aiming to make Yunnian's tea industry even more vibrant and prominent.
