On July 31, the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened a consultative symposium on “Building a Billion-Dollar Shaanxi Tea Industry to Support High-Quality Rural Revitalization.” Vice Chairman Li Xunwang of the provincial CPPCC presided over the meeting and delivered remarks.
At the meeting, Wang Baocheng, Director of the CPPCC Shaanxi Provincial Committee's Proposal Committee, presented the findings of preliminary research. Seven CPPCC provincial committee members, chairs of municipal and county CPPCCs, and relevant experts and scholars made exchange speeches around the topic and put forward suggestions and proposals. Officials from provincial departments such as the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Department of Science and Technology interacted with participants and responded to concerns raised by all parties.
Vice Chairman Li Xunwang noted that the tea industry is a regional advantageous industry and distinctive specialty in our province, and promoting its high-quality development is a key task for comprehensively advancing the rural revitalization strategy and increasing farmers' income. We must thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping's important instructions on the integrated development of Tea culture, tea industry, and tea technology. Targeting the weaknesses and deficiencies in the development of our province's tea industry, we should plan ahead for mechanized, standardized, and intelligent development of the tea industry. Guided by the market, we should actively promote the full-chain development of tea-related industries, including tea beverages, tea foods, tea utensils, tea health and wellness, and tea tourism. We should strive to achieve prosperity for an industry and enrichment for the people through a single leaf, contributing to building a billion-dollar Shaanxi tea industry.
