Points to note when making blood sugar lowering tea:

1. When selecting Chinese herbal medicines for lowering blood sugar, you can choose some with relatively better taste and easier to ingest, such as dwarf lilyturf tuber, wolfberry, American ginseng, etc.

2. Some diabetic patients not only have diabetes but also simultaneously have conditions like hypertension and hyperlipidemia. You can choose some blood sugar lowering herbs that have multiple effects, or combine two Chinese herbal medicines for use. For example, wolfberry not only has the effects of lowering blood sugar and protecting the pancreas but also can lower blood lipids and blood pressure, so it is suitable for patients with the "three highs" (high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high blood lipids).

3. The selected Chinese herbal medicines must be safe and reliable with minimal side effects. For example, wolfberry can be used both as food and medicine; it's dual-purpose for food and medicine with almost no side effects. Additionally, it is important to note that medicinal tea is medicine, not regular tea. Therefore, you can drink it for a period, then take a break for a while before drinking again; or, alternatively, drink one type of blood sugar lowering tea for a period, then switch to another type for another period, alternating in this way to avoid damaging liver and kidney function.
