Dy Maojian Tea is a renowned historical Chinese Tea. It is the only tea from Guizhou to be included in the “Top Ten Famous Chinese Teas,” “Top Ten World Expo Teas,” “Top Ten Regional Public Brands of Chinese Tea,” and the “Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World.” It is a key agricultural industry in Qiannan Prefecture and also the first regional public brand of tea promoted by Guizhou Province.

Dy Maojian tea is characterized by its exposed white down, tightly rolled and finely twisted leaves that resemble fishhooks. Internally, it boasts a long-lasting fragrance, clear and bright infusion, fresh and sweet taste, and bright leaves with plump buds. It is renowned for its distinctive quality features known as “three greens and three yellows”: the dry tea is green with yellow highlights, the infusion is green with a translucent yellow hue, and the infused leaves are green with a yellowish glow.

The physical standards for Dy Maojian tea are divided into Supreme, Premium, Superior, First Grade, and Second Grade. The grade standards are as follows:

Supreme

Fresh Leaves: Single buds 90% or more, one bud and one initial leaf 10% or less

Appearance: Tightly rolled and finely twisted, fully covered with white down, uniform, tender green, clean

Infusion: Pale yellow-green and bright

Aroma: Tender fragrance, chestnut aroma, fresh fragrance

Taste: Fresh and sweet

Infused Leaves: Tender and uniform, lively, yellow-green and bright

Premium

Fresh Leaves: One bud and one initial leaf 90% or more, young one bud and one leaf 10% or less

Aroma: Tender fragrance, chestnut aroma

Taste: Fresh and mellow

Infused Leaves: Tender green, lively, uniform

Taste: Rich and mellow

Infused Leaves: Yellow-green and relatively bright

First Grade

Fresh Leaves: One bud and two initial leaves and young one bud and two leaves

Appearance: Firmly bound and somewhat twisted, uniform, dark green, relatively clean

Infusion: Yellow-green and somewhat bright

Aroma: Pure

Taste: Mellow and harmonious

Infused Leaves: Yellow-green and relatively bright

Taste: Pure and harmonious
