History and Folklore

The Dragon Peak Pool is located on a small mountain peak in the Dalong Mountains. According to legend, this pool was originally dry. One year, a wandering monk came here and, upon seeing the ancient trees towering around the pool and the thick shade covering it, exclaimed, “What a fine pool! What a fine pool!” He then built a stone hut beside the pool and spent his days clearing it out. After countless days and nights of work, the monk finally uncovered a huge bluestone. When he loosened the stone, clear water began to seep through the cracks, accompanied by a faint rumbling sound. Suddenly, the stone shattered, and a powerful jet of water gushed forth from beneath, flowing continuously and soon filling up the entire deep pool with crystal-clear spring water.

The monk stroked his beard and laughed, planting tea bushes all around the pool and developing a tea garden. Because these plants were nourished by the water of the Dragon Peak Pool, they enjoyed soft and fertile soil. Surrounded by exotic flowers and trees and carpeted with fragrant grass, the tea bushes grew amidst clouds and mist, enveloped by their scent day after day, year after year, until they eventually produced a supreme quality tea.
