Life is Like Tea, Only Known After Drinking

Tea News · May 06, 2025

I wonder if you've ever felt this way: “Life” is just terrible.

Every day, driven by invisible pressures, unable to stop, work that never ends, no time for rest. Even after working late and rushing through crowded buses and subways, exhausted enough to want nothing more than to dive into bed, you return to your dark rental room only to realize you haven't even eaten dinner…

The stress from work is already causing enough anxiety, but things aren't much better in other areas. Your health is declining due to staying up late, your love life remains a blank slate, and friends are drifting away because there's no time to keep in touch. What is the point of living? What does life have left to offer?

Looking at your own life and then at others', this sense of powerlessness becomes even more pronounced. No matter how you look at it, everyone around you seems to be doing well, with you being the worst off.

Every time you scroll through your social media feed, what people share are either delicious meals or travel experiences; their lives seem full and fulfilling. It appears everyone is living well, with unlimited money and time, surrounded by many who love them. Their lives are filled with happiness and devoid of troubles.

Everyone is doing well, except for the small, insignificant “me,” turning “life” into a stagnant pool.

We all envy others' lives, or rather, we envy the lives they portray on social media.

As we grow older, everyone has learned to hide their sadness and pain, getting used to concealing themselves. Those who appear to be living well also have their unseen struggles.

There was once a hot topic online: “How are you doing at around 25 years old after graduating?” Different people had different answers, yet they revealed the same confusion and unease. Perhaps it's because we only see the “good life” that others present and worry about our own “not-so-good” lives.

Life circumstances are not static; there are moments of triumph that evoke emotion as well as periods of darkness. What we need to do is maintain our state of mind, avoid letting our emotions swing to extremes, and lead a warm and comfortable life.

Like boiling water, when it meets Tea, they nourish each other, becoming pleasant to drink.

No one's life is easy. As the saying goes, “Only the drinker knows whether the water is warm or cold.” Instead of envying others, why not Brew yourself a Cup of tea and sit down to savor it slowly.

Life is like a cup of tea that hasn't been drunk yet. You won't know its taste until you drink it. But at the same time, since it can create a moment of leisure, why not think about it – you're actually doing alright.
