I pondered this for a long time without finding a satisfactory answer, until one day I came across an insight about obesity that made everything clear.

We often assume that obesity is caused by lifestyle choices, but in reality, it is genetics that determine their predisposition to favor habits leading to weight gain.
So, could someone's love for Tea also be due to genetics? Perhaps those who love tea have a gene deeply rooted within them that makes them naturally drawn to tea upon encountering it.
Tea has been a companion to the Chinese people for over a thousand years. Over such a long period of time, it must have had a subtle yet profound influence on the Chinese psyche. As it was passed down through generations—first, second, third, and so on—could it not have quietly integrated into our genes, forming a “gene for loving tea”?

Due to certain historical reasons, traditional lifestyles gradually drifted away from us. However, when life improved, there were calls to revive traditions, and “Sinology” became popular. Many traditional cultural forms started to re-enter our lives, gaining much enthusiasm. Among these was tea.
For a long time, tea played a dispensable role in the lives of the Chinese, but the absence of the practice did not cause any genetic change.
While more and more people are enjoying tea, I do not believe it is simply a trend or a fad. Loving tea is actually a response to a deep-seated yearning, a return to our spiritual world.

When we do not have the opportunity to encounter tea, our “gene for loving tea” remains dormant. But when we do come across tea, this gene is awakened, unleashing tremendous energy that draws us to it.
Falling in love with tea feels like a reunion after a long separation. So when we meet tea, we do so with unhurried joy.
The love for tea may not be love per se, but rather a rediscovery of an old love.
Why are more and more people loving tea? Why do many find it hard to let go once they fall in love with it? Because each of us Chinese carries a gene for loving tea.
This gene does more than make us enjoy tea; it is a powerful force that inspires us to seek beauty in the soul and live with passion.
