Zhanglang is an ancient Bulang Village with a history of over 1,400 years. It is the largest Bulang village in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and also the village where Bulang historical and cultural heritage is best preserved. The Zhanglang Tea Mountain belongs to the Bada Ancient Tea Mountain area, with an altitude of 1,330 meters, an annual average temperature of 21.5°C, and an annual precipitation of 1,530 millimeters, making it very suitable for tea tree cultivation. The area of ancient tea tree planting reaches more than 700 mu, making it the largest ancient tea garden in the Bada Tea Mountain. The Bulang people's lives are inseparable from tea, as they say, “Wherever the Bulang people have lived, there will be thousand-year-old ancient tea trees,” and there will certainly be ancient tea gardens. This is the commonly cited rule in Yunnan known as “The Pu People Planting Tea.”

Wild-type tea trees also grow in the virgin forests surrounding Zhanglang Village. The concentrated patches of ancient tea trees in the virgin forest have become a biological species contributing to biodiversity within the forest. The ancient tea trees in Zhanglang can be divided into wild ancient tea trees and those cultivated by humans. The wild ancient tea trees are distributed around the villages, hidden deep within the dense virgin forest, surrounded by lush vegetation and thriving in excellent ecological conditions, growing freely. The leaves of the ancient tea trees in Zhanglang are elliptical in shape, with a raised leaf surface, the body of the leaf either arched or folded inward, soft in texture, deep green in color, gradually tapering to a point or ending in a sharp tip, and wedge-shaped at the base. They have a strong wild aroma, tightly twisted dark and bright leaves, golden-yellow and clear broth with a sweet fragrance, moderate bitterness and astringency, a unique aroma that resembles orchids, honey, or wildflowers, a pure and distinct tea aroma, and a powerful tea essence.
