Loving your teapot requires dedication; maintaining it should not be haphazard. When drinking Tea with a purple clay teapot, please remember the following precautions!
1. Do not drink tea just for the sake of maintaining your teapot. Take things as they come and take your time. There's no rush. Savor your tea and life.
2. Teapots are meant for Drinking Tea, and the pot should serve the tea. Choose your pot based on the tea you will use it for. A pot that enhances the tea is a good one. In practical terms, a semi-handmade pot used and maintained well over many years can be superior to a brand new one costing ten thousand yuan.

3. Drinking tea and maintaining your teapot are both ways to cultivate one's character. Peace of mind is essential. Don't obsessively polish or brush your teapot while drinking tea, or splash tea water all over it. Such actions are unrefined.

4. When you first start using your teapot, be thorough in cleaning it. Try to remove any small sand particles, impurities, and dust inside and out. If you neglect this step, it will be too late once you have started the maintenance process.

5. Drink all the tea and, when finished, thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the teapot. Wipe dry any water marks, leave the lid open, and let it air-dry upside down. It should take at least 48 hours for the teapot to completely dry.

6. Internal maintenance is the right path, but it takes time. If you're impatient, this method may not suit you. External maintenance will make the teapot shine brightly and look beautiful, but it can reduce the double porosity of the purple clay, which is not ideal for tea. Some types of clay are not suitable for external maintenance. Maintaining both the interior and exterior is a good compromise, and this is what most people do.

7. Using one teapot for only one type of tea makes sense, as it prevents flavor contamination.
8. brewing different grades of tea is a good way to maintain your teapot, much like how a person who doesn't pick at their food tends to be healthier.

9. Pouring tea over the teapot has its merits, as it helps prevent color differences between the lid and body and can cover up minor flaws such as skipped sand and needle marks.
10. After each use, avoid leaving tea in the teapot. Clean it with hot water, similar to how we wash dishes after eating.

11. Having two towels ready for maintaining your teapot is necessary: one wet for cleaning and one dry for polishing.
It's best to use towels with finer textures, softer ones that absorb water well and dry easily. They are not meant to act like sandpaper. There are specialized towels used for makeup by women that work great, though they can be a bit pricey.
12. Avoid touching your teapot with oily hands or placing it in areas with oil fumes. Store it in a dry place away from dust when not in use.
