Shuai Zhaohui Visits the County People's Congress Representative Liaison Station to Hear Suggestions and Opinions on the Tea Industry Development-1

On August 19, Party Secretary Shuai Zhaohui of the county visited the County People's Congress Representative Liaison Station, where he engaged in face-to-face exchanges with grassroots representatives and listened to their suggestions and opinions on the high-quality development of the tea industry value chain in our county. Shuai Zhaohui emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions regarding the coordinated development of the tea industry, tea technology, and Tea culture. We must continue to leverage industrial advantages, strengthen brand marketing, extend the industrial chain, transform traditional development thinking, boldly reform and break through existing frameworks, accelerate the transformation and development of the tea industry in Wuyi, and fully utilize the tea industry for the benefit of the people, making this golden leaf of common prosperity shine even brighter. Chen Yingchun, Director of the Standing Committee of the County People's Congress; Deng Xiaozhang, Deputy Director; Jiang Zhenxuan, Deputy Director; and Cao Jinxun, Vice County Magistrate attended the event.

“Currently, we need to focus on breaking through online sales to improve the market for our teas.” “We should strengthen standardized management of tea gardens, promote large-scale planting, and attract more companies specializing in deep processing.” “There needs to be a breakthrough in brand marketing to enter the new tea beverage market.” At the meeting, representatives at various levels and industry insiders discussed the current state, industry trends, and future prospects of the tea industry in Wuyi. It is reported that in 2025, the tea garden area in our county reached 121,500 mu (approximately 81 square kilometers), with a tea production of 19,700 tons, and the value of the entire industrial chain reached 3.27 billion yuan. The tea industry has long been a leading industry in agricultural development and an advantageous industry for enriching the people and increasing income in Wuyi.

After hearing the suggestions and opinions, Shuai Zhaohui pointed out that the tea industry in Wuyi has a long history, solid foundation, and reputation beyond the region. In recent years, it has played a positive role in enriching the people and promoting rural revitalization. However, it is also evident that our county's tea industry faces issues such as having “volume but lacking value,” “scale but lacking leadership,” “depth but lacking breadth,” and “quality but lacking a brand.” Relevant departments and trade associations need to focus on key areas and break through with reforms, further gathering consensus from all parties, concentrating advantageous resources, strengthening overall planning, creating distinctive brands, and forming a united force to push the development of the tea industry value chain onto a new level and into a new chapter, truly transforming these “small leaves” into a major industry and driving significant development.

Shuai Zhaohui stressed the importance of persistently treating the tea industry as a critical industry. We should delve deeper into tea culture, expand the tea industry, and strengthen tea technology, striving to explore new tracks and construct a new pattern, thereby promoting the high-quality development of the entire industrial chain.

We should explore the depth of Wuyi's tea culture, leveraging the resources of the tea industry to investigate differentiated development of tea culture, launching more tea-themed study tours, visits, and travel routes, promoting the integration of tea and Tourism, and highlighting the characteristics of Wuyi tea.

We should create competitive brands by standardizing the public brand “Wuyang Spring Rain,” supporting enterprises at different levels to develop their own distinctive brands, actively adapting to market and public demand, focusing on both online and offline sales channels, and striving to enhance the added value of the brand.

We should extend the tea industry chain by using a holistic approach to fill gaps and strengthen the chain, introducing and cultivating local leading enterprises specializing in deep processing, strengthening the construction of public infrastructure, and resolutely following a path of integrated development across primary, secondary, and tertiary industries.

We should strengthen quality control over tea products, accelerating variety improvement from the cultivation stage, diversifying tea types, enhancing the scientific management of tea gardens, intensifying practical technological research in areas such as good variety selection, process optimization, and product development, and developing more diverse and high-quality tea products.

We should leverage the role of trade associations, enhancing the voice of tea enterprises, stimulating the subjective initiative of enterprises, strengthening self-supervision within the industry, and guiding the formation of broader industry self-discipline.
