A healthy person maintains a blood pH between 7.2 and 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. Medical clinical reports indicate that even healthy individuals, if they consume too many acidic substances, will see their blood pH shift from slightly alkaline to acidic. This disrupts the body's metabolic processes and can lead to various health disorders.

Maintaining the blood's slight alkalinity is a fundamental rule for preserving health. However, in recent decades, the abundance of material life has led to diets heavily focused on acidic foods such as fish, meat, eggs, and shellfish. Such eating habits are harmful to our bodies. Long-term consumption of acidic foods naturally leads to acidic blood, a condition known in medicine as blood acidosis. This requires alkaline substances (calcium, potassium, magnesium) to neutralize the acids, forming neutral compounds that are excreted from the body.
A Japanese professor once analyzed the components of tea leaves and found that a cup of tea (about 100cc) contains approximately 37 milligrams of potassium. Additionally, burning tea leaves yields ashes containing about 5% to 6% protein, of which potassium constitutes up to 50%, followed by phosphates at about 15%, along with other minerals like calcium, magnesium, iron, and manganese. Furthermore, analysis of brewed tea shows that about 60% to 70% of the minerals in tea leaves are soluble in water.
From these experiments and analyses, it is evident that tea is rich in minerals. Drinking tea moderately every day can supplement the alkaline minerals that the body lacks, lower blood acidity, and help prevent blood acidosis. Moreover, long-term and appropriate consumption can not only purify acidic blood but also promote blood circulation and balance various bodily functions.
