Fenghuang Dancong Tea - Brotherhood Tea

Tea News · Mar 17, 2026

Fenghuang Dancong Brotherhood Tea belongs to the orchid aroma type. It originated from two famous tea bushes planted in upper and lower terraces, with similar tree shapes and leaf forms. Their branches and leaves intertwined, resembling close brothers. Tea farmers later blended their fresh leaves during processing, creating this outstanding and famous tea, hence the name "Brotherhood Tea".

The Brotherhood Tea trees grow in the Kengxin tea garden of Liziping Village, Wudong District, at an altitude of about 1,050 meters. Reportedly selected from natural hybrids of the Fenghuang Shuixian population variety, they are approximately 200 years old. The tree height is 4.5 meters, with a canopy spread of 3.9*4.2 meters. Five main branches emerge from the base, with dense branching. Leaves grow in an upward-slanting manner, elliptical in shape with acuminate tips, slightly raised leaf surfaces, green and glossy color, flat leaf blades, medium texture, fine, shallow, sharp serrations, and slightly wavy margins. Spring buds sprout around the Spring Equinox, appearing yellow-green and hairless. The spring tea picking period is around Grain Rain.

The finished tea features tightly rolled, heavy strips, dark brown in color with an oily sheen; it has a refined, elegant orchid aroma and an orange-yellow, bright liquor; the old-bush charm is unique, with a mellow, refreshing, and slightly sweet taste; the mouthfeel is delicate and smooth; it endures multiple infusions well.
