Once feeling unwell, many people suspect they might have a serious illness. In fact, your body may be healthier than you think. According to a report from Fox News, if your body exhibits the following seven signs, it indicates that it is functioning well.
1. Relatively clear and abundant urine. If you urinate several times a day, and the urine is light yellow, not cloudy, dark, or too yellow, it means your body is well-hydrated and your kidneys are healthy. If the urine is completely colorless, it may indicate overhydration or loss of salt and electrolytes. Besides changes in urine color, pay attention to its odor. Sweet or unusual smells, or red-colored urine should be noted.
2. Regular bowel movements. If your stool is blood-free, neither too loose nor too hard, and you have regular bowel movements that quickly and effectively eliminate waste from your body, it means your diet contains enough fiber and your digestive system is in good condition.
3. Stable weight. Maintaining a normal weight range and keeping it relatively stable is also a sign of good health. If your weight suddenly fluctuates significantly, or if your appetite increases or decreases sharply, you should pay attention.
4. Fast wound healing. If minor wounds such as cuts, scrapes, or burns heal quickly, congratulations—your blood is in a healthy state. If unexplained bruising appears with light pressure on the skin, seek medical attention promptly.
5. Healthy hair and nails. The skin system (including hair and nails) often provides the earliest indication of vitamin deficiencies. Lack of vitamins typically manifests as brittle, easily deformed nails and excessive hair loss. Healthy individuals usually have pink, firm, and rounded nails. The skin should be elastic and quickly return to normal when pressed.
6. Regular menstrual cycles for women, and semen volume of about one teaspoon for men. A regular menstrual cycle is the most important indicator of a woman's reproductive health. For healthy middle-aged men, the semen volume per ejaculation should be 2–5 milliliters. Less than 2 milliliters may be a sign of oligospermia. Healthy semen should be white or gray and sticky. Semen with blood or that is too thin should be checked by a doctor promptly.
7. Good sleep. Occasional sleep deprivation or insomnia is normal. As long as your sleep is generally regular and without night sweats or frequent trips to the bathroom, it basically meets the requirements for good sleep. Waking up feeling refreshed is also a positive health signal.
