Taiwan Oolong Tea Actually Originated from Fujian

 In Zhangzhou, few people seem familiar with Taiwan tea. In fact, Taiwan Oolong tea originally came from Fujian. Although Taiwan introduced tea plants from Fujian only about 200 years ago, after years of improvement, the production techniques for Taiwan Baozhong tea and Oolong tea have developed their own unique style. Their appearance and aroma are distinctly different from mainland Oolong teas, forming unique tea cultivation and processing techniques. Various tea regions in Taiwan have also developed characteristic teas based on their local environments, such as Wenshan Baozhong tea, Nantou Dongding Oolong tea, Hsinchu Oriental Beauty tea, and various high-mountain teas, each with its own special flavor.

According to relevant data, in recent years, Zhangzhou City has become one of the most typical and relatively concentrated areas for Taiwanese investment in mainland China. Among the tea enterprises established by foreign investors in Zhangzhou, 90% are invested by Taiwanese businessmen. Taiwanese businessman Li Ruihe, whose ancestral home is Zhangpu, Zhangzhou, crossed the Taiwan Strait in 1993 to invest and start businesses in his ancestral homeland, and now owns over a thousand chain stores globally. In 2001, Huang Wenhe, chairman of Taiwan Jinhu Chun Tea Co., Ltd., took a liking to Gaoxi Village, Shuyang Town, Nanjing County, investing 8 million RMB to register Zhangzhou Yupin Tea Co., Ltd., introducing varieties such as Taiwan Oolong tea, Four Seasons Spring, and Jinxuan.
