Tea News · May 06, 2026

For symptoms such as phlegm-dampness, epigastric and hypochondriac distension, and fatigue, dietary therapy that resolves phlegm and promotes diuresis can be adopted.

Suitable foods and medicinal ingredients include oolong tea, tangerine peel, hawthorn, poria, and lotus leaf. Cold, raw, greasy, or overly nourishing foods should be avoided.

1. Lotus Leaf and Tangerine Peel Drink: 20 grams of fresh lotus leaf, 15 grams of tangerine peel, 10 grams of cattail pollen powder. Wash the fresh lotus leaf and tangerine peel separately, tear the lotus leaf into pieces, and place both in a clay pot with an appropriate amount of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for 15 minutes over low heat. Add the cattail pollen powder, mix well, and continue to simmer until boiling again. Take in the morning and afternoon. It has the effect of resolving phlegm, promoting diuresis, and dispersing stasis and lowering lipids.

2. Alisma and Oolong Tea: 15 grams of alisma, 3 grams of oolong tea. Boil the alisma in water for 20 minutes, then use the decoction to brew the oolong tea. Drink frequently as a tea, and it can be brewed 3-5 times in one day. It has the effect of protecting the liver, reducing fat, and promoting diuresis and weight loss.

3. Tangerine Peel and Poria Powder: 300 grams of tangerine peel, 450 grams of poria, 300 grams of coix seed. Wash the tangerine peel, poria, and coix seed separately, dry them in the sun or in an oven, and grind them into a fine powder. Store in a sealed bottle to prevent moisture. Take 15 grams each time, twice daily, with warm water. It has the effect of resolving phlegm and reducing turbidity and fat.
