As we all know, tea leaves are highly absorbent and can easily become damp if not stored properly. Damp tea loses much of its clear aroma and flavor when brewed. Below, we introduce a clever method to restore damp tea leaves.
Place the damp tea leaves in an iron pan over low heat. Gently stir the leaves with a spatula. Once the tea's fragrance begins to emerge, quickly remove the pan from the heat. At this point, the tea is dry, and its aroma remains intact.
Then, transfer the warmed tea leaves to a plate, allow them to cool, and store them in a dry, sealed container.
It is understood that tea contains many aromatic substances that are best preserved in environments away from light and air. "Gentle warming over low heat" is the optimal method for handling damp tea, as it effectively evaporates moisture from the leaves, but timing the removal from heat is essential.
