In the sweaty summer, nothing is more refreshing than a cup of fragrant tea, dispelling heat and fatigue. Adding honey to brewed tea offers extra comfort, relieving heat and weariness. In China's largest tea ceremony school, "Taiji Tea Ceremony," this tradition has been preserved for years. Their tea masters add a small amount of honey to some black teas, creating not only a sweet taste and warm atmosphere but also providing numerous positive health benefits.

Drinking tea induces sweating and dissipates heat; a cup of hot tea releases about 50 times the heat energy contained in the tea itself. Additionally, tea leaves contain sugars, pectin, amino acids, and other components that interact with saliva to generate fluids and relieve heat. Honey is an extremely nutritious food, containing not only glucose and fructose but also various vitamins, as well as trace minerals like calcium, phosphorus, and iron. Honey promotes digestion and absorption, stimulates appetite, calms the nerves, aids sleep, and improves the body's resistance. It contains almost all the nutrients found in vegetables. According to traditional Chinese medicine, honey nourishes yin, moisturizes dryness, benefits the lungs, relieves constipation, detoxifies, strengthens the spleen, and enhances complexion. Hence, it is praised as the "essence of a hundred flowers." Honey is an excellent energy supplement, particularly effective in alleviating fatigue and weakness.

Adults can consume about 100 grams of honey daily in divided doses. If mixed with water, one spoonful of honey (about 5–10 grams) can be diluted into a cup of honey water (about 200–300 grams). It is best to use warm water below 60°C to avoid destroying its nutritional components. Generally, honey is added after the tea has cooled slightly. Honey tea is best consumed in the morning, one hour before a meal, or two hours after a meal. In summer, serving it chilled not only cools and refreshes but also stimulates appetite. Adding honey to tea not only enhances its taste but also boosts the energy provided by the tea. Since both honey and tea have laxative effects, they can accelerate the body's metabolism, thereby achieving detoxification and beauty purposes, making it the ideal natural beauty beverage.
