Zhuyeqing Tea

Zhuyeqing Tea is a type of green tea and a famous specialty product of Leshan, Sichuan, China. Zhuyeqing Tea has a flat, smooth, straight, and elegant appearance, being uniform and clean. The dry tea leaves are tender green and glossy. Its aroma is a rich and persistent tender chestnut fragrance. The liquor is bright and tender green, with a fresh, mellow, and refreshing taste. The brewed leaves are complete and display a yellow-green brightness.

I. Characteristics of Zhuyeqing Tea

Zhuyeqing Green Tea, also known as Qingye Ganlu (Green Leaf Sweet Dew), is produced from the famous tourist destination, Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, known for its majestic mountains and beautiful scenery. The special geographical environment, with its dense bamboo forests and perennial clouds and mist, results in Zhuyeqing tea leaves that are flat and straight, thin at both ends, resembling bamboo leaves. The dry tea has a tender green and glossy color.

After brewing, Zhuyeqing releases a rich and persistent tender chestnut aroma. The liquor is bright and tender green, with a fresh, mellow, and refreshing taste. The brewed leaves are complete and yellow-green bright. The initial taste may seem light, but is followed by a fragrant, mellow, sweet, and refreshing flavor that lingers between the lips and teeth for a long time.

II. Production Process of Zhuyeqing Tea

The picking of fresh leaves for Zhuyeqing is very particular. It must be done before Qingming Festival (around early April) from high-altitude tea gardens on Mount Emei at 800-1200 meters above sea level, when the tea's internal quality is at its best. The picking standard is single buds or one bud with one just-unfolded leaf. Producing 500 grams of finished tea requires 30,000 to 35,000 such bud cores.

Based on over ten techniques including shaking, scattering, grasping, pressing, and shaping, Zhuyeqing has formed its own standardized process flow. Combined with modern biotechnology, it is produced on the world's most advanced fully enclosed production line. Through far-infrared microwave aroma enhancement, high-temperature sterilization, and constant aroma fixation, the essence of the tea leaves is preserved.

III. Health Benefits of Zhuyeqing Tea

Zhuyeqing Tea can quench thirst, relieve summer heat, detoxify, and promote diuresis. It has a fresh and fragrant taste, a slightly yellow and light green color, and a crystal-clear, translucent liquor. It contains saponins, sugars, and vitamins A and C, offering benefits such as promoting salivation and quenching thirst, clearing heat and detoxifying, resolving phlegm, reducing inflammation, and facilitating diuresis and bowel movements.

IV. Brewing Method for Zhuyeqing Tea

1. Place about 3g of Qingye Ganlu tea leaves into a 210-300ml glass according to personal taste.

2. Add hot water (around 80°C) to about one-third of the cup, then swirl gently.

3. After the leaves have fully absorbed water and unfolded, add more water until the cup is 70-80% full. Enjoy while hot.

4. When about one-third of the tea liquor remains, add hot water for another infusion. This helps maintain a relatively even concentration of the tea liquor across infusions.
