Drinking tea is originally for peace and joy. Shenshi tea, in particular, offers a reason to pause for a busy body and mind at the end of the day. This is a beautiful wish and a personal experience; the happiness of tea lovers often comes from sharing.
Shenshi tea involves two aspects: timing and method. Between 3 and 5 p.m., using a breathing technique to drink tea thoroughly can improve circulation, balance emotions and the body, and achieve physical and mental health and happiness.
Drinking tea during Shenshi does not exclude tea at other times. If you have time and conditions, immerse yourself in a tea session during Shenshi. Even if conditions don’t allow—whether you’re on the road, at the computer, or in a negotiation—Shenshi serves as a signal to hydrate and relax with tea. It doesn’t have to be rigid in form or tea type. Where, how, and what you drink should be comfortable—even picking up a plastic bottle to drink water is fine.
During Shenshi (3–5 p.m.), many people are busy and stressed. Precisely because of this busyness, we need relief both physically and mentally. Promoting Shenshi tea aims not only to meet physical needs but also to make "Shenshi tea" a healthy, optimistic, and positive mindset integrated into our daily habits. It offers a moment of self-care for a tired body, transforms tension into a calming frequency, and provides warmth and balance in any state. Consciousness determines existence. If you are willing to accept, nothing is a problem; if not, one reason is enough.
Because of the physical sensation of Shenshi tea, drinking becomes pure and direct, allowing tea to communicate with the body. Physical perception outweighs conscious judgment, using a cup of tea to harmonize, transform, and balance. Because of the ritual of Shenshi tea, it incorporates tea elements into various large, medium, and small events, creating more possibilities.
I dislike oppositional and restrictive thinking by nature. For anything, I prefer to explore its beautiful possibilities. Everything in the world is relative, not absolute. Starting with acceptance, there’s no benefit in using my "correctness" to prove your "mistake"—such disputes waste energy and time.
Shenshi is when the bladder meridian is active. The bladder meridian is the longest in the body, storing fluids and delivering yang energy to the kidneys. At this time, good fluid circulation should be completed. Therefore, replenishing fluids during Shenshi with an appropriate method, especially drinking energizing tea with a breathing technique, allows organic compounds in the tea to combine with the body for transformation. This prevents water from quickly entering the bladder, avoiding burden. Using the breathing method, drinking about 500 ml of tea over 40 minutes won’t cause bladder pressure.
Method determines outcome. During Shenshi, drinking an appropriate amount of tea with the breathing method nourishes and balances the body well. Balance is the highest state of emotions, mindset, and health.
Shenshi should be the time of day with the best memory and highest work efficiency. So why do we often feel tired and experience dry lips? This is because fluids cannot be generated. "Fluid" secretion is related to the kidneys. Since the kidneys belong to water, if kidney water doesn’t rise, dry lips occur. Kidney water needs yang energy to rise, and yang energy is delivered through the bladder meridian. Therefore, drinking tea thoroughly during Shenshi helps clear meridians, soothe the liver and kidneys. The liver governs the eyes, the kidneys govern the ears—resulting in clear vision, sharp hearing, and a refreshed spirit. Adjusting the body and emotions well leads to事半功倍 (twice the result with half the effort) in work and life.
According to surveys,坚持 (persisting) for 10–15 days of drinking tea thoroughly during Shenshi can achieve good detox effects,大大改善 (greatly improving) body odor and bad breath. Additionally, there is clear data proving benefits for skin moisturizing: thorough tea drinking increases skin hydration by 20–25% in summer and 10–13% in winter. Especially in summer, following the principle of treating cold diseases with heat, drinking tea during Shenshi can remove damp-cold and replenish yang energy.
Have you tried Shenshi tea? If not, sincerely wishing to share Shenshi with you in the name of tea. If you like it, make it a habit and share it with others—nourishing yourself and benefiting others. If it doesn’t suit you, treat it as an experiment; it won’t affect your love for tea!
Drink tea simply,感知 (perceiving) with body and mind. No force, no limits, no musts—just acceptance,自然 (naturalness), and joy!
