Seven Clever Ways to Use Tea for Skin Care

Tea News · Mar 30, 2026

 Cleverly using tea for skincare:

1. Washing Face with Tea Broth

After washing your face at night, brew a cup of tea, apply the tea broth to your face, pat gently, or attach a cotton cloth soaked in tea broth to your face, then rinse with clean water. The tea color on the face will naturally fade overnight, helping to remove spots and whiten the skin.

2. Tea Mask

Mix 1 tablespoon of flour and 1 egg yolk, then add 1 tablespoon of green tea powder. Apply it evenly to the cleansed face, and wash off after 20 minutes. Alternatively, mix 1 tablespoon of tea broth with 1 tablespoon of flour to make a mask, wash off after 15-20 minutes. This can eliminate acne and remove excess oil.

3. Green Tea Water to Soothe Skin

Soak a cotton pad in fresh green tea water and gently pat it on sunburned skin. This not only soothes the skin but also alleviates pain from sunburn. Additionally, fresh green tea is rich in tea polyphenols, which can combat damage caused by UV rays.

4. Tea to Relieve Eye Fatigue and Improve Dark Circles

After brewing tea, squeeze it dry and place it in a gauze bag. Apply the tea bag to the eyes for 10-15 minutes to relieve eye fatigue, improve dark circles, and treat eye inflammation.

5. Tea for Hair Washing and Care

Tea seed cake contains about 10% tea saponin, which has excellent cleansing properties. Shampoos made with tea saponin can remove dandruff, relieve itching, and are non-irritating to the skin, leaving hair fresh and smooth. After washing hair, apply fine tea powder to the scalp and massage gently once a day. Alternatively, apply tea broth to the scalp, massage for 1 minute, and then rinse to prevent hair loss and remove dandruff.

6. Tea for Exfoliation and Weight Loss

Mix tea powder into the bath and massage all over the body. This can remove keratinized skin, wash away oil, soften and smooth the skin, promote sweating, and has weight loss effects.

7. Bathing and Foot Soaking with Tea Water

Place 20-30 grams of tea leaves in a small cloth bag and put it in the bathtub for a bath. Pour the brewed tea broth into a foot basin for foot soaking. This can treat skin diseases, remove aged keratinized skin, smooth the skin, and also eliminate body odor, leaving a fresh tea fragrance on the body.
