Tea News · Apr 30, 2026

Tea has excellent health benefits. Since its discovery and use, tea and tea therapy have been important parts of wellness in China. Using tea as a base, adding one or more ingredients to brew can achieve health preservation, disease prevention, and therapeutic purposes.

Most nourishing——Ginseng and Astragalus Tea If you have a weak constitution and easily catch colds, you can brew a cup of ginseng, astragalus, and red date tea during your office afternoon tea break. Use 5 grams each of astragalus, red dates, and codonopsis, and steep as tea. This tea is especially suitable for frail people. Alternatively, longan, goji berries, and red dates can be steeped in boiling water to make a sweet, rich, and irresistible warming tea.

Best for clearing heat——Pineapple Black Tea Add pineapple slices to brewed black tea, then stir in lemon peel shreds. Pineapple is rich in fructose, glucose, and vitamins, which can clear heat, reduce internal heat, and boost energy.

Best for cough relief——Chrysanthemum and Monk Fruit Tea Soak monk fruit in water for 20 minutes, then boil with chrysanthemum; or steep both in boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Once cool, add two slices of fresh lemon and a little rock sugar. This can help soothe sore throat, itching, and cough.

Best for improving eyesight——Chrysanthemum Tea Flower tea is suitable for spring drinking. It helps dispel cold pathogens from the body and promotes the growth of yang energy. Paired with tribute chrysanthemum or Hangzhou white chrysanthemum, it can clear the liver and improve eyesight, making it ideal for relieving visual fatigue. Chamomile can also be used as a substitute.

Best for soothing the throat——Kumquat and Mint Tea If your throat feels uncomfortable, steep fresh kumquats and mint leaves in 80°C hot water. Add a little rock sugar and flower tea. The drink is cool, sweet and sour, leaving a refreshing sensation in the throat. This tea not only soothes the throat but also freshens breath. The bright kumquats and green mint leaves are also a visual delight.

Best for reducing fat——Smoked Plum Pu'er Tea Steep 2-3 smoked plums or preserved plums with an appropriate amount of Pu'er tea. If you had a greasy lunch, a cup of smoked plum Pu'er tea in the afternoon is a good choice. This tea helps lower blood lipids and clear away fat.

Best for anti-fatigue——Korean Ginseng Tea Korean ginseng slices or red ginseng slices brewed with black tea can combat fatigue, boost energy, and strengthen immunity. You can also use ready-made granulated Korean ginseng tea products.

Best for moisturizing——Lily and Black Tea Drink Mix lily powder or lotus root powder with a small amount of cold water, then pour in freshly brewed black tea to instantly create a crystal-clear, jelly-like drink. Sweeten with honey. Early spring in the north is still dry and windy. Lily, lotus root, and honey all have excellent moisturizing effects, and this is also a low-calorie healthy snack.

Best for nourishing the stomach——Osmanthus Oolong Tea Pre-made osmanthus oolong tea is available for purchase. If making your own, use a small amount of osmanthus, and steep at 80°C. The fragrant osmanthus can awaken the stomach and strengthen the spleen, while oolong tea warms and nourishes the stomach. It is most suitable for people with a cold and weak spleen and stomach.
