It’s All Red Tea’s Fault!!

Red tea keeps us from catching colds in winter

Professor Shimamura from the School of Medicine at Showa University stated that gargling with red tea can prevent the flu. The professor conducted an experiment dividing 300 students into two groups: one group gargled with tea twice a day, while the other did not. After five months, the group that gargled with tea was hardly affected by the flu virus. This is because tea contains catechins, which are highly abundant in red tea. These substances help inhibit the activity of oxygen free radicals in the body, assist in resisting external viruses, and can even curb tumor growth. Professor Shimamura said research shows that red tea at a concentration of 5% can completely kill flu germs, while the concentration of red tea we normally drink is generally between 2% and 5%. He introduced the specific method: gargle once after getting up and once after returning home each day, holding the red tea in the mouth for 15 to 20 seconds before spitting it out, repeating two to three times. The professor also pointed out that besides red tea, green tea and others have similar effects, and the higher the quality of the tea, the better the preventive effect against colds, while low-quality tea is basically ineffective.

〇 Red tea keeps us young forever

Over the past five years, the U.S. government has funded more than 150 studies on green tea and red tea and their chemical components. The results show that antioxidants in green tea and red tea can completely destroy the transmission pathways of chemicals in cancer cells. Dr. Murray Mittleman, director of vascular epidemiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, said: "Red tea and green tea have roughly equivalent effects, but the antioxidants in red tea are more complex than those in green tea, especially beneficial for the heart." An American magazine reported that the anti-aging effect of red tea is stronger than that of garlic, broccoli, and carrots.

〇 Red tea prevents osteoporosis

On May 13, 2002, the American Medical Association published a survey of 497 men and 540 women over 10 years, pointing out that people who drink red tea have stronger bones. The polyphenols in red tea (also present in green tea) inhibit the activity of substances that destroy bone cells. To prevent common osteoporosis in women, it is recommended to drink a small cup of red tea every day for several years with obvious effects. Adding lemon to red tea strengthens bones even more, and adding various fruits can also have a synergistic effect.

〇 Red tea keeps our blood flowing smoothly

Recently, a study related to red tea was also conducted in the American medical field. The study found that heart disease patients who drink four cups of red tea daily can increase their blood vessel dilation from 6% to 10%. In normal people under stress, the dilation can increase by 13%.

It contains various nutrients, such as multiple water-soluble vitamins, rich trace elements like potassium and manganese, and a flavonoid compound. After brewing red tea, 70% of the potassium can dissolve into the tea, and potassium has the effect of enhancing heart blood circulation.

〇 Red tea keeps us energetic

Through medical experiments, it has been found that the caffeine in red tea stimulates the cerebral cortex to excite the nerve center, promoting alertness, concentration, sharper thinking, and enhanced memory. It also stimulates the vascular system and heart, strengthening heartbeats, thereby accelerating blood circulation to improve metabolism, and simultaneously promoting sweating and diuresis. This dual approach accelerates the excretion of lactic acid (a substance that causes muscle fatigue) and other waste products in the body, achieving fatigue relief.

〇 Red tea greatly reduces the incidence of cancer worldwide

The claim that tea has anticancer effects is very popular, and researchers around the world have conducted many explorations on this topic. However, it was generally believed that the anticancer effect of tea was mainly in green tea, but now there is new progress. Studies have found that red tea, like green tea, also has strong anticancer effects.

〇 Red tea makes our liver feel lighter

According to experiments, the tea polyphenols in red tea can adsorb heavy metals and alkaloids, and precipitate and decompose them. This is undoubtedly a blessing for modern people whose drinking water and food are polluted by industry.
