Tea Used for Eye Compresses: Avoid Black Tea

Tea News · May 30, 2026

Tea's beauty and skincare effects can be achieved through drinking, but tea can also be used both internally and externally. External application can improve skin texture. White-collar workers who frequently work late at night can use the most natural tea to treat dark circles and eye bags.

Treating Dark Circles

Wrap used tea leaves into small tea bags and refrigerate them. Then, place the chilled tea bags over the eyes for 10-15 minutes. Remove and rinse the residual juice with clean water. Can be done once a week.

Treating Eye Bags

Steep some tea in hot water and let it cool. Soak a cotton pad in the cooled tea, gently squeeze out excess liquid, and place the pad over the eyes for 10-15 minutes. Remove and rinse the residual juice with clean water. Can be done once a week.

Important Notes: When choosing tea for eye compresses, be sure to avoid black tea, as it may cause pigment deposits. Instead, use flower tea, green tea, or chrysanthemum tea. It is best to choose green tea.
