1. What Makes Aged Dark Tea So Good?

1. Historically Proven: The Life Drink of Frontier Nomads

Aged dark tea is the life drink of the ethnic minorities in China's northwestern frontier regions. These groups, who primarily consume beef and mutton, rely on dark tea for digestion and nutrition. Hence the saying, "Better to go three days without food than one day without tea; a day without tea leads to stagnation, three days without tea leads to illness." For centuries, these frontier nomads who drink dark tea have had the lowest incidence of 'three highs' (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia), drawing worldwide attention.

2. Practically Proven: The Nemesis of Affluenza

From May 1990 to May 1991, the Chinese PLA General Hospital observed 55 elderly veterans with hyperlipidemia among 155 retired cadres in a certain cadre rest home. They consumed dark tea daily (15g) for 180 days. Among the 50 cases who took aged dark tea, their blood lipid levels and blood peroxide activity significantly decreased. They affirmed that aged dark tea is genuinely effective.

3. Scientifically Proven: One of the World's Most Remarkable Foods

Shennong tasted hundreds of herbs, yet he did not know tea could neutralize toxins, nor could he conduct toxicity experiments. For centuries, frontier nomads only knew that drinking dark tea after eating beef and mutton helped digestion and relieved greasiness, making their stomachs comfortable, without knowing its other miraculous effects. Modern instruments can analyze the substances in dark tea, and modern medicine and clinical trials can demonstrate the effects of 'golden flowers' in Fuzhuan dark tea.

Dark tea is a post-fermented tea, with a higher degree of fermentation than other teas. The pile fermentation process (heat fermentation) causes a significant loss of caffeine, so dark tea calms the nerves and does not irritate the stomach.

4. The Magical Medicinal Value of 'Golden Flowers'

The reproduction, growth, transformation, isomerization, balance, and decline of various fungi beneficial to tea quality cause changes and recombination of the internal components of Anhua dark tea. This not only gives dark tea its unique flavor and aroma but also enhances its nutritional value.

The beneficial bacterial species produced in the fermentation vat — 'golden flowers' (Eurotium cristatum) — contain over 450 beneficial components. They play an important role in anti-cancer, anti-radiation, anti-aging, promoting digestion, and preventing intestinal fat absorption.

2. What Are the Characteristics and Benefits of Aged Dark Tea?

1. Significant Efficacy of Aged Dark Tea;

(1) Clears Fat, Reduces Weight:

It dissolves fat; activates protein kinase, accelerates fat breakdown, promotes the excretion of lipid substances, and reduces body fat content. It is called 'slimming tea' by the Japanese, 'beauty tea' by Koreans, and 'digestion tea' by Taiwanese.

(2) Clears the Stomach, Aids Digestion:

It eliminates grease, improves the intestinal microbial environment, and has the function of regulating the gastrointestinal tract. In Chinese folk tradition, aged dark tea has been used to treat abdominal distension, dysentery, and indigestion.

(3) Clears Blood Vessels, Lowers Three Highs:

It has a good effect on degrading fat, anticoagulation, improving glucose metabolism, and promoting fibrinolysis. It inhibits the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the aorta and coronary arteries, achieving blood pressure reduction, blood sugar reduction, blood lipid reduction, softening of blood vessels, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

(4) Clears Toxins, Protects Liver and Kidneys:

It participates in human metabolism and has a special purifying effect on internal organs. It can adsorb toxic substances in the body (alcohol, heavy metals, internal waste) and promote their excretion, while also inhibiting most pathogenic bacteria. It is known as the 'artificial liver'.

2. Aged Dark Tea: Scarce Resources;

Dark tea is a product protected by national geographical indication, with the protection area covering 32 townships, while Pu'er tea covers 639 townships. Currently, dark tea plantations cover only about 100,000 mu (approx. 6,667 hectares), at most 300,000 mu (approx. 20,000 hectares) historically. Even at 300,000 mu, the average per capita for the national population would be only about 0.1 jin (50 grams). Considering the substantial supply needed for frontier nomads and large exports, dark tea will undoubtedly be scarce for a considerable period. Dark tea itself is a rare product, so Anhua aged dark tea has huge development potential.

3. Aged Dark Tea: Appreciating in Collection Value;

As a deeply fermented tea, the longer dark tea is stored, the mellower, smoother, and more aromatic it becomes, with an aged fragrance. The older the dark tea, the higher its economic value, and it has no expiry date. Therefore, it can be customized for personal occasions such as wedding anniversaries, celebration commemorations... It is suitable for collection, gifting, expressing feelings, preserving long-term, and serving as a keepsake.

Due to its strong adsorption capacity, the storage environment for dark tea should be 'ventilated, dry, non-toxic, and odor-free,' so that the tea can be preserved for a long time during aging.
