"Strong" indicates a rich tea liquor; when sipped, it feels thick and coats the tongue. "Powerful" refers to high stimulation; the tea liquor initially feels sticky in the mouth, followed by a strong刺激性(stimulating sensation). This taste type is typical of high-quality broken black tea.

3. Rich and Mellow Type: Made from fairly tender leaves with skillful processing. The tea liquor feels rich in content upon entering the mouth, with relatively strong stimulation and收敛性(convergency), and a sweet or甘爽(refreshingly sweet) aftertaste. Examples include high-quality Congou Black Tea (工夫红茶), Maojian, Maofeng, and some oolong teas (青茶).
4. Rich and Thick Type: Made from fairly tender leaves with thick blades and proper processing. The tea liquor feels rich in content upon entering the mouth, with strong stimulation and收敛性(convergency), and a甘爽(refreshingly sweet) aftertaste. Examples include Shu Green Tea, Sui Green Tea, Shiting Green Tea, Lingyun White Hair, Dian Hong (Yunnan Black Tea), Wuyi Rock Tea (武夷岩茶), etc. Rich and Refreshing (浓爽) also belongs to this type.

5. Mellow and Full-Bodied Type: Made from good quality, relatively tender leaves with normal processing. Green teas, black teas, and oolong teas can have this taste profile. Examples include Huoqing, Maojian, Lushan Cloud Mist (庐山云雾), Shui Xian (Narcissus) Oolong, Oolong, Bao Zhong, Tieguanyin (铁观音), Sichuan Black Tea (Chuan Hong), Qimen Black Tea (Qi Hong), and some Fujian Black Teas (Min Hong).
6. Aged and Mellow Type: Made from still tender leaves, undergoing a damp piling process (发水闷堆) during manufacturing for aging and mellowing. Examples include Liupao Tea (六堡茶) and Pu-erh Tea (普洱茶).
7. Fresh and Mellow Type: Made from relatively tender, fresh leaves processed promptly using green tea, black tea, or white tea (白茶) methods. The taste is fresh and mellow with a refreshing aftertaste. Examples include Taiping Houkui (太平猴魁), high-grade baked green tea (烘青), Da Bai Cha (Large White Tea), Xiao Bai Cha (Small White Tea), high-grade Qimen Black Tea (祁红), Yichang Black Tea (宜红), etc.

8. Fresh and Strong Type: Made from highly tender leaves, thick blades, strong buds, fresh, with high water extract content, processed promptly and properly. The taste is fresh and strong with a brisk aftertaste. Examples include Huangshan Maofeng (黄山毛峰), Ming Mei, etc.
9. Clean and Fresh Type: Made from one-bud-one-leaf, fresh leaves, processed using black or green tea methods promptly and properly. Has a clean fragrance and a fresh, refreshing sensation. Examples include Mengding Ganlu, Biluochun (碧螺春), Yuhua Tea (雨花茶), Duyun Maojian, Bailin Congou, and various Silver Needle teas (银针茶).

10. Sweet and Mellow Type: Made from tender and fresh leaves, processed carefully and properly, with a sweet and mellow taste. Examples include Anhua Songzhen, Enshi Yulu, white tea, and small-leaf Congou black tea.醇甜(mellow sweet), 甜和(sweet and harmonious), and 甜爽(sweet and refreshing) also belong to this type.
11. Fresh and Light Type: Made from tender and fresh leaves with low content of polyphenols, catechins, and water extracts, but slightly higher amino acid content. Processed normally, the tea liquor feels fresh, tender, and comfortable in the mouth, with a relatively light taste. Examples include Junshan Yinzhen (君山银针), Mengding Yellow Buds, etc.

12. Mellow and Refreshing Type: Made from leaves with good tenderness, processed promptly and properly. The taste is neither strong nor weak, neither bitter nor astringent, with a refreshing aftertaste. Examples include yellow bud teas from the yellow tea (黄茶) category and generally medium to high-grade Congou black teas.
13. Mellow and Mild Type: The taste is not bitter or astringent but has body (厚感), with a平和(peaceful) and relatively weak aftertaste. Examples include Xiangjian from the dark tea (黑茶) category, Liupao Tea, and medium-grade Congou black tea.

14. Neutral Type: Made from relatively old leaves, with over half the bud and leaf already aged, processed normally. Many teas belong to this type, including medium to low-grade black teas, green teas, oolong teas, yellow teas, and medium-grade dark teas. Besides having a neutral, slightly sweet, non-bitter, and non-astringent taste, teas of this type also have other quality characteristics. For example, black teas may have red liquor, low aroma, and花红(variegated red) brewed leaves; green teas may have yellowish-green or orange-yellow liquor and yellowish-green somewhat variegated brewed leaves; oolong teas may have orange-yellow or orange-red liquor and variegated brewed leaves; yellow teas may have dark yellow liquor and relatively yellow-dark brewed leaves; dark teas may have a pine smoke aroma, etc.
