Da Hong Pao Brewing Method
Da Hong Pao can be brewed in two ways: first, the pot brewing method, and second, the cup brewing method. The steeping time should be adjusted according to the drinker's habits and preferences. The ideal effect can be achieved by appropriately regulating the tea quantity, water volume, water temperature for brewing, and suitable drinking method.
Tea quantity: Determined by the size of the container (lidded cup or pot), generally half the amount of the container.
Water volume: Based on the tea quantity, usually 20-25 ml of water per gram of tea leaves.
Water temperature: Should reach the initial boiling point of 98°C or above, especially for the first infusion.
Steeping time: The first infusion is about 10 seconds, the second is about 30 seconds, and the third is suitably around 50 seconds. High-quality Wuyi Rock Tea can be brewed more than six times (brewing time is for reference only, depending on personal taste; the principle is to quickly pour out the water and avoid prolonged steeping).
