Tea Drinking is Beneficial for Preventing and Treating Heart Disease

Tea News · Nov 02, 2025

Tea has preventive effects against various diseases, which has been recognized both in ancient and modern times, both in China and abroad. According to a March 5, 1999 article in Market Daily: "Research has found that boiled tea water can comprehensively treat premature heartbeats (referred to as early beats), whether atrial, ventricular premature contractions, or atrial fibrillation." Analysis suggests this is because tea leaves release high concentrations of tea pigments in high-temperature water, which can not only clear atherosclerotic plaque from artery walls, gradually restoring arterial tissue to normal, but also prevent cholesterol-like substances from depositing on artery walls, thereby preventing atherosclerosis.

However, such tea often doesn't taste good, resembling herbal medicine, and isn't effective for all types of heart disease. The newspaper also provided a "prescription": Take 5 grams of black tea or green tea, add 200 ml of water, boil over medium heat, simmer for five minutes, let settle for a moment after removing from heat, strain and drink once on an empty stomach, daily, for three months.
