How to make iced tea in summer?
There are several methods to make iced tea. Here we recommend a simple, safe, and convenient method.
Cold brew tea is probably the easiest way to make iced tea. Making cold brew tea requires no professional skills, just loose leaf tea, room temperature water, a wide-mouth jar, or a pitcher. However, cold brew tea generally requires 8-12 hours, which is quite time-consuming, so it needs to be prepared a day in advance.
You need:
Loose leaf tea
A lidded wide-mouth jar or pitcher
Purified water or mineral water
Refrigerator
8 to 12 hours of time
Add tea leaves and water according to the ratio of 4g tea leaves per 12 ounces (340g) of water. If you don't have a kitchen scale, you can roughly estimate the amount. The image below uses Laoshan Spring green tea; the tea leaves roughly cover 75% of the bottom of the jar. If using a larger bottle or if the tea leaves are more fluffy, you can completely cover the bottom.
Fill the pitcher with room temperature water, adding water at a ratio of 1g tea per 85g water. Close the lid tightly and place the tea in the refrigerator to steep for 8 to 12 hours.
After cold steeping, the tea leaves will sink to the bottom of the jar. There is no need to filter the leaves using another container; the leaves remaining at the bottom won't pour out and also look nice. Long-term low-temperature extraction won't make the tea taste too bitter or over-extracted.
When drinking, prepare a glass, fill it with ice cubes, and add some sliced fruit, honey, white sugar, or syrup. For the best flavor, please finish it within a week.

Note: Some people say, 'I'm not keen on plain tea, but milk green tea is quite tasty.' Here is the milk green tea recipe: Brew 5g jasmine green tea with 300g of 95°C hot water for 9-10 minutes. Take 200ml of the brewed tea, then add in order: 22g white sugar, 35g non-dairy creamer, and 200ml hot water. Stir evenly until combined. (For iced milk green tea, add an extra 7g of sugar, add ice cubes, and change the 200ml hot water to 100ml room temperature water).
