Pu'er Collection: "Seasonal Changes"

Tea News · Apr 15, 2026

Spring is the time of growth and the beginning of Pu'er tea transformation. Allow moderate airing to let the tea absorb the essence of spring, ensuring its freshness, while also being mindful of moisture prevention. (During the transition from spring to summer, pay attention to sealing.)

Summer is the season of growth. With rising temperatures and increased humidity, it is a crucial period for tea transformation. Combine ventilation and sealing to avoid excessive dampness. If the temperature is too high, the tea base can turn red and lose its vitality. Therefore, it is essential to prevent high temperatures in summer.

Autumn, with its clear and crisp weather, is a time for the tea to converge. Focus on gathering the tea's energy and consolidating its flavor, prioritizing storage with moderate air exchange.

Winter is when all things are stored and preserved. For tea, it is a time to concentrate its aroma. Using the Winter Solstice as a benchmark, seal it tightly for storage, maintain warmth, prevent freezing, and nurture the tea's yang energy.

The way of change in all things is the essence of the health preservation principles in the "Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon." Special attention should be paid to the two extremes of seasonal change: the Summer Solstice and the Winter Solstice. The "I Ching" mentions "closing the gates on the solstice days."

The essence of thousands of years of traditional culture is highly instructive for Pu'er tea collection. Our own stored tea has a mellow, aged, smooth, and moist character, with a touch of freshness and vibrancy. Its aroma is elegant and somewhat ethereal, giving a sense of harmony and integration. This approach avoids the dryness, staleness, dispersion, and dullness found in many poorly aged teas.
