Did You Know Tea Can Also Be Used as Medicine?

Cough is one of the main symptoms of respiratory diseases. The causes of cough can be divided into two categories: external factors and internal injuries, both of which can lead to lung dysfunction and coughing. The following health teas can help relieve cough symptoms.

Double Leaf Tea

Recipe: Tea (preferably green tea) 3g, perilla leaves 6g, crystal salt 6g.

Usage: First, stir-fry the green tea in a pan until slightly browned, then boil all three ingredients together to extract the juice. Take 2 doses daily, divided into two warm servings.

Effect: Clears heat and soothes the throat. Used to treat hoarseness and sore throat caused by colds.

Olive Bamboo Plum Tea

Recipe: 5 salted olives, 5g bamboo leaves, 2 black plums, 5g green tea, 10g sugar.

Usage: Boil all ingredients together to extract the juice. Take 2 doses daily, one cup per dose, served warm.

Effect: Moistens the lungs and soothes the throat. Used to treat chronic cough and hoarseness caused by overwork, as well as acute and chronic pharyngitis.

 


 

Lotus Flower Tea

Recipe: 6g golden lotus flowers, 6g tea leaves.

Usage: Brew with boiling water and drink as tea.

Green Hophane Sugar Tea

Recipe: 3g green tea, 3g hophane flowers, 2 dried sea coconuts, rock sugar to taste.

Tangerine Peel Tea

Recipe: 2g tangerine peel, 2g tea leaves.

Luffa Tea

Recipe: 200g sliced luffa, 5g tea leaves, a pinch of salt.

Usage: First, cook the luffa with a pinch of salt. Brew the tea leaves with boiling water for 5 minutes, then mix the tea juice with the luffa soup. Take one dose daily, as needed.

Effect: Clears heat, relieves cough, and soothes the throat. Used to treat acute and chronic pharyngitis, throat itch, tonsillitis, and bronchitis.

Orange Red Tea

Recipe: 10g orange red, 5g green tea.

Usage: Brew with boiling water, then steam in a pot for 20 minutes. Drink as tea.

Effect: Clears heat and reduces phlegm. Used to treat cough with thick, sticky phlegm that is difficult to expel.

 


 

Mango Tea

Recipe: 50g mango flesh boiled with 0.5-1g green tea and 25g sugar.

Usage: Divide into two warm servings. Take one dose daily.

Effect: Treats cough, excessive phlegm, and shortness of breath.

Lychee Tea

Recipe: 1g black tea, 25g dried lychee flesh (or 50g fresh lychee).

Usage: Brew with boiling water. Take one dose daily, divided into three servings.

Effect: Treats asthma.
