The appearance of Oolong tea leaves

For Oolong tea's appearance, high-quality Shui Xian tea has plump, firm, and curved strips. Like premium Tieguanyin with robust strips, while inferior Oolong tea has loose strips.

Oolong tea exhibits various elegant shapes in its dry form, including strip-shaped, curled, and spherical varieties. The leaves are relatively loose with many green leaves and occasional stems.

When Oolong tea is placed in a purple clay teapot, the leaves absorb moisture and display a fragrant, blooming state. The edges of the brewed leaves appear reddish-brown, meaning the veins and edges show red while the remaining parts stay green - with emerald green areas slightly tinged with yellow and red areas appearing bright. The central part remains light green.
