With the improvement of living standards, high-fat foods are consumed more frequently. Drinking dark tea can help reduce greasiness, protect the liver, nourish the stomach, and also aid in weight loss.
Dark tea is one of the six major tea categories in China and is unique to the country. People describe it this way: The world only has it in China, and China only has it in Anhua. In the unique latitude and misty hills of Anhua, Hunan, grows the miraculous dark tea, known as "the mysterious tea on the Silk Road."
Pu'er tea and Anhua dark tea have a fermentation degree of over 90%. Pu'er tea undergoes raw fermentation, while Anhua dark tea is fermented after pan-firing. Deeply fermented tea, made from coarse old tea leaves, is equivalent to whole grains. The tea polyphenols in dark tea have certain liver-protective effects, and its ability to cut grease and promote weight loss has been utilized for thousands of years. The dietary structure of residents in northwest China is "beef, lamb, and cheese, which cannot be digested without tea," hence the saying, "Would rather go three days without food than one day without tea," leading to the millennia-old Tea Horse Road.
Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes the spleen and stomach functions as the "acquired foundation" of bodily health. Dark tea has excellent stomach-nourishing effects and can effectively treat constipation. As a post-fermented tea, its fermentation degree is higher than other tea categories, making it calming and gentle on the stomach. More remarkably, the beneficial bacterial strains produced during fermentation in the tea piles can combat cancer, resist radiation, delay aging, beautify the skin, promote digestion, and prevent intestinal fat absorption.
In daily life, dark tea has many other uses. For tired, red, or bloodshot eyes, tea can be used to wash them. Overnight dark tea can be used for brushing teeth and gargling, not only preventing oral capillary bleeding but also sterilizing and reducing inflammation. Leftover dried dark tea leaves can be made into pillows, alleviating nervous tension and helping with relaxation and sleep. It should be noted that tea leaf pillows need to be aired frequently to release absorbed moisture.
Here are a few ways to consume and use dark tea:
【Make a Cup of Iced Tea】

【Make Milk Tea】
Method: After brewing the tea, add milk in your preferred ratio, then add a suitable amount of salt to create a distinctive milk tea.
【Dark Tea Home Remedy】
